  Meet the principals of illume - linda mauro and lauren goldblum

linda mauro

With years of experience in applied market research and consulting, Linda has gained an unfiltered perspective that allows her to quickly cut through the clutter, pinpoint objectives and identify strategic advantages. Linda has shared her strategic insights expertise with companies of all sizes, both national and global.

Linda has had extensive experience in diverse industries including pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare, CPG, advertising and financial services among others. She has a passion digging for insights and shaping research learnings into compelling and actionable narratives.

In 2010, Linda was a finalist for the Disruptive Innovator Award at The Market Research Event where she led the research driving the strategy and measurement for a multiyear award winning advertising campaign for GlaxoSmithKline.

Linda has taught and presented market research seminars at the university level. She has also worked for Carnegie Mellon’s Department of Psychology and the University Center for Social and Urban Research at the University of Pittsburgh.

Linda graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Vermont with a BS in Business Administration. She also holds an MA in Sociology specializing in Social Science Research Methods from the University of Pittsburgh, and was a PhD candidate.


lauren goldblum

Lauren is an accomplished market research consultant whose unique combination of business savvy and interpersonal skills makes her an invaluable asset to any team. Her ability to create a three-dimensional view of the consumer—to succinctly define what makes that person “tick”—and turn those insights into action has produced impressive results across many categories.

She spent more than 20 years working for SmithKline Beecham-GlaxoSmithKline as a market research professional and then as a market research consultant, combining both classic and innovative research techniques to yield the most complete understanding of consumers and the marketplace. While supporting GSK, Lauren has led the research in a variety of healthcare categories including weight control, women’s health, general OTCs, oral care, smoking cessation and innovation to name a few. Consulting clients have spanned a wide variety of industries including personal care, food, retail and durables.

Lauren graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in Psychology and Business and earned her MBA in Marketing from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.
